About Face

About Face
The Essentials of User Interface Design
Alan Cooper This book was recommended to us by an associate.  It is the second book on the required reading list of all Luna Systems employees.  "This book has a simple premise: if achieving the user's goals is the basis of our user interface design, then the user will be satisfied and happy.   If the user is happy, he will gladly pay us money, and then we will be successful."  Alan Cooper
Visual Basic 6.0 Developer's Workshop Visual Basic 6.0 Developer's Workshop (Fifth Edition) John Clark Craig & Jeff Webb This book has already paid for itself.  It was released in late September/98 and we have already crammed at least a week's worth of work into 2 hours of research and implementation.  If you're planning to deploy a 3 tier application with MTS, VB and SQL then this book should be the first that you buy!
win32api.gif (9358 bytes) Visual Basic 5.0 Programmer's Guide to the Win32 API Dan Appleman With the 6.0 version on our wish list, this is still the definitive reference for API programming.  Buy it!
VBA Unleashed Visual Basic for Applications
Unleashed
Paul McFedries VBA isn't just for Access anymore!   This book is very much like a tutorial in VBA code programming for all of the Microsoft Office products!  A very nice book broken up into the different Office applications!
Black Art Black Art of Visual Basic Game Programming Mark Pruett Rick bought this book on whim one Friday afternoon and spent the weekend creating a simple "Break-Through" game.  It did something to him because he's never been the same since and his code has never looked more intriguing.
